According to the sources, It looks like Apple may ditch the Space Gray color variant of the iPhone 7, instead offering a deep blue color option. That’s according to Japanese blog Macotakara, which posted an alleged render of the upcoming iPhone in blue.
Publication notes that the blue color option will be offered alongside Rose Gold, Silver, and Gold variants. Given that the Space Gray variant is usually one of the first to sell out at stores, it is highly unlikely that Apple would discontinue the color option.
According to the blog’s source at a Chinese supplier, the color may replace Space Gray and join silver, gold and rose gold as the four color options available at launch.
Dropping Space Gray would be a real disappointment for those who like black and gray. Count me in that boat. The iPhone 7’s screen is said to be unchanged from the iPhone 6S, which means the glass will curve slightly at the edges.
As always, the talented Martin Hajek has put together 3D concept renders of what a deep blue iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus with dual rear cameras would look like based on the current list of rumors. You can find more high-res renders on his website.
Apple is likely to remove the headphone jack in the iPhone 7, but whether or not the space will be filled with a second speaker is contested. Some rumors suggest dual speakers for stereo audio, but others say the iPhone 7 will continue to sport a single speaker.
