The new MacBook Air and Microsoft’s rumored Surface Pro 5 are among the most eagerly anticipated devices today, but which of these two gadgets will people likely see first?
Official details regarding the potential debuts of the two products have yet to be provided at this point, though some pretty solid rumors have served to give people a good idea of what to expect.
Right now, the latest rumors have indicated that it will be the new MacBook Air that people should expect to see first.
According to a recent report from Bloomberg, a collection of new Mac products could reportedly make its debut as early as next month, including an updated MacBook Air that may feature an improved USB-C port together with other additions.
That’s good news for the folks waiting to see the new Apple laptop, but as for those waiting for Microsoft’s latest hybrid tablet, they may have to stay on standby for significantly longer.
While a more defined release window for the rumored Surface Pro 5 has not been identified just yet, earlier rumors have already indicated that it may not be made available until well into next year.
An earlier report from ZD Net’s Mary Jo Foley noted that new Surface devices featuring both the Redstone 2 version of the Windows 10 operating system as well as Intel’s Kaby Lake processors – such as the Surface Pro 5 is expected to – may not be made available for purchase until the 2017 holiday season.
The way things stand right now, there’s a chance that the new Surface Pro tablet may be released more than a full year after Apple’s new MacBook Air is first shown off to the public.
More details about the release dates of both the MacBook Air 2016 and Microsoft’s Surface Pro 5 should be made available in the near future.
